The Laurel Receives St. Louis CNR's Regional Excellence Award

BSI has been chosen as one of the winners of the 2012 Regional Excellence Awards from St. Louis Construction News & Review Magazine for their work on The Laurel Apartments & Hotel.  

BSI served as general contractor for the 635,000 sq. ft. project that transformed the former Dillard's Department Store building on Washington Ave. into a mixed-use complex that includes: 212- room Embassy Suites Hotel on floors 2 through 5, 205 apartments on floors 6 through 12, and 32,000 sq. ft. of retail space on the first floor as well as enclosed parking on the lower levels.  The beautiful Laurel has many modern features including an electrical vehicle charging station, custom high-end water features, and a stunning open air Atrium Courtyard complete with four skylights, a dog park, bbq grills, concrete patios, high end landscaping, and suspended balconies in select apartment units.  This ambitious renovation was completed in just 18 months, just in time to fill its beautiful new hotel rooms for the Cardinals amazing playoff and World Series victory!  

The CNR Regional Excellence Awards were established in 1989 to recognize projects which demonstrate excellence in design, excellence in construction, and a positive contribution to the St. Louis Community.
