This past month, BSI was featured in a cover story of the St. Louis Business Journal entitled, "St. Louis Green LEED-ers".  And for good reason.  BSI has been at the leading edge of the green building movement through their work as the Missouri Botanical Garden's Construction Manager since 1987.  Before there was a U.S. Green Building Council, BSI was working with the Botanical Garden to incorporate groundbreaking green building elements for the 100,000 square foot Monsanto Research Center and other MBG projects.

BSI's latest LEED project is the new 75,000 sq. ft. addition and 8,000 sq. ft renovation on the MICDS campus.  This new state-of-the-art 3-story building will be comprised of classrooms/lab or "clabs"s for math, chemistry, biology, and physics.  The facility will feature lab space dedicated to plant sciences with access to a greenhouse.  The building will also have a robotics lab and a 700-seat auditorium.  BSI will be incorporating a variety of sustainable design features in pursuit of LEED Platnium Certification.

In addition, The Laurel Hotel and Apartments in downtown St. Louis just recently received LEED Silver certification.
