Be a BSI Scholar
The BSI Scholars program is a unique program that combines tuition assistance, academic counseling, and career mentoring for African American students wishing to pursue a degree in either civil or architectural engineering. Tuition assistance applies to any Missouri based university or college offering accredited coursework leading to a civil or architectural engineering degree.
Eligible students will have demonstrated, through their high school academic record and ACT scores, the aptitude and work ethic necessary to withstand the rigors of a university engineering curriculum. Typically, they should have achieved a class rank in the upper quartile of their high school class and an ACT of at least 24 on both the Composite and the Math section. Class rank requirements may be adjusted for selective high schools.
- Annual tuition reimbursement up to the published tuition at the University of Missouri (currently $10,500).
- Academic and career counseling provided by BSI professionals.
- Assistance with securing engineering and/or construction related summer internships.
Program participation is renewable for up to three additional years, provided the student maintains an acceptable level of achievement.
